It is my pleasure to welcome you and your family to Karara State School. Our school offers learning programs from Prep to Year 6. We are a short 30min drive from Warwick or 35mins from Inglewood and are situated just off the Cunningham Highway in Karara. Our school values include respect, responsibility and safety, through which we promote kindness, tolerance and inclusive education. Our goal is to build on our students strengths to ensure they have the skills to succeed in life.
We have an outstanding teacher to student ratio, allowing us to tailor each students' educational experience, specific to their individual needs. Our small school has the edge, as we have the opportunity to engage in a full curriculum and provide extra learning opportunities including the sporting schools program, STEM program and Japanese language delivered through the Virtual Academy. Our teachers love teaching and our students love learning.
We believe strongly in developing each individual child to their full potential – be it academically, physically, socially, emotionally, culturally or creatively. Through our comprehensive knowledge of each child, we endeavour to accomplish this end without imposing unrealistic expectations upon the learner.
Our school is central to the community of Karara and we engage with our residents in the local area, the Rural Fire Service, Hall committee and Karara Tavern and Motel regularly. We also have an active P&C and encourage school partnerships that support our community.
